Questions, Questions, Questions….

Dearest Darling Friends,

One question changed the direction of my life. In a class my teacher Rajan asked this question to all present, ‘If you had all the money in this world, would you still do what you are doing today?’

This question shook me to the core. I was in the Iron and Steel trading business and doing very well I must say. However, the answer to this question, ”If you had all the money in this world, would you still do what you are doing today?’ was a resounding NO. I was doing that business for one reason. This was the only business I knew with scope to MAKE money. So, if I had all the money in the world I would surely NOT be doing that business. Then, what would I do? Surprisingly, there was no struggle for the answer. I loved being with people. Hence, if I had all the money in the world I would love to be with people. In two years time, I left my business to trusted employees and joined a training organisation Alma Mater.

Today we have our own organisation Life School. Its been a little more than 15 years since I moved into training. I have loved every moment of it. That decision to leave my business and join the training industry was one of the best decisions of my life.

It was a big decision. However, it was an easy decision.

Involved in routine life, taking care of day to day living, most of us forget to ask ourselves crucial questions like, ‘Is this the kind of life I truly want to live?’. ‘Do I want to live life this way forever?’ ‘Is there a better way to live this single life we have?’

One question when answered, changed my life.

With your permission, with intentions that are pure and strong, I invite you to think about answers to questions below. Like mine, maybe the answers will change the way you live your life.

If you had a book written about YOUR life, what would you chose the title to be? Have you started living THAT way? If yes, great. If no, what are you waiting for?

If you had a choice over the way you want to die – Accident / Disease / Natural (in your sleep after 100 years of fit life), what would you chose the method to be? Do I need to write more here….

If people had a choice over who their neighbor should be, who why and how many would chose you? Isn’t this so very interesting. While we might want to chose a CERTAIN person as our neighbour, will THAT person chose us? Does the answer say anything to you about you?

If they had a choice to marry again, would your life partner HAPPILY and TRULY chose you? This one is tricky. Don’t ask them the answer. Answer it honestly, yourself! Make the necessary corrections if needed. If you do ask your life partner for the answer, you must do so with courage in your heart and an ability to positively take honest news. Ready? If your are surprised with the answer, don’t blame me. I have already warned you.

If you had a choice over any 1 year of your life, which one would you love to relive and which ones would you want to rewrite? This answer guarantees smiles and frowns. It will help you to understand what do you long for and what you did wrong for? If you will contemplate a little, the answer will leave you wiser.

If you could chose to have any 3 abilities / attitudes that you don’t have today , which one would you chose? Why? This answer will reveal what you are LONGING for? In all likelihood, the answers will reveal to you your true goals / aspirations and even your self-esteem. Do take a long time in answering questions in this paragraph. When you arrive at the answers, think about them a little more. Chances are, you will want an exchange offer.

If you had to start your career all over again, would you be in the same career?

If you had to drop a quality that you have, which one would it be? Why? There ! This answer shows you how to become better with a simple decision. Lets do it ! Now !!!

Now one minefield of a question. What price are you willing to pay for your dreams / goals / ambitions to become a reality? Tricky, isn’t it? I bet you wouldn’t have thought about this. Not like this !!! Trust me. This is one question that you MUST answer. Your life, your future, your peace, might be depending on this.

All champions and history makers have answered this question at the crucial junction of taking the plunge ahead. Clarity on this question gave them the vision and strength for life ahead. May it do the same to you too.
